This year the Bass World Championship is going to be held in America on Lake Murray just 35 miles outside of Columbia, SC. The USA Bass Team will be competing against teams from around the world beginning on October 20, 2022. Activities get started on October 16th with a Youth Angling Day and close on October 22nd with a Flag walk and award presentations. The championship is sanctioned by The International Federation of Sport Angling in Fresh Waters (FIPSed).
In 2023 two more international fishing championships are going to be held in America. In April the Kayak Fishing World Championship will be held on Center Hill Lake in Tennessee and in September the Pan American Bass World Championship will be held on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

U.S. Angling is a 501c3 charitable organization that provides leadership for U.S.A. National Fishing Teams as they compete worldwide. U.S. Angling is recognized as the sole U.S. representative to the Confederation International de la Peche Sportive (CIPS). CIPS is a world sport fishing governing body of 115 member nations representing over 50 Million competitive anglers of which FIPSed is a part of. You could consider the events that U.S. Angling competes in as the Olympics of fishing.
The United States has been winning medals in these international fishing world championships since 1982, including individual and team medals in bass, fly and ice fishing categories. In 2010 the USA Ice Team took gold at the World Ice Fishing Championship that was held on Boom Lake in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Typically these events have been held in Europe but are now are beginning to be held in America more frequently.
